#8 Bird Leg Cabin - Alan Wake
Many of you readers are probably really surprised. Alan Wake is one of those games that is very often over-looked for being completely awesome and terrifying. The Cabin on Cauldron Lake totally screws Wake over. He goes to this town called bright falls with his wife, hoping for an awesome vacation to clear his writers block. He ends up "renting" a cabin on the lake called Cauldron Lake by this creepy lady. His wife and him get in a fight and he runs out of the house to clear his head, when all hell breaks loose. His wife disappears, a character he never finished shapes reality around him and creates the darkness over the once Bright Falls. He wakes up (haha see what I did there?) in a car crash, and only has a flashlight to defend himself. His character creates a tornado of darkness and attacks him. The lake takes the character and has it infect some of the townsfolk and so Alan has to kill a "man" covered in shadows. The cabin makes him write a manuscript that he never remembers writing. The darkness form the cabin possesses a local man into becoming a psychopath and stole his wife. And when Alan tells the cops about the cabin, its gone. Just gone.
