#20 Kid Icarus: Uprising - Nintendo 3DS 2011
As the only handheld game on my list, this game meets some fantastic expectations. This is the one of the few games on my list I love for its genuine light banter. Lady Palutena is a fantastic motherly figure with some very humorous and sarcastic comments. Pit is definitely that adolescent teenage boy that has some false confidence like all the rest of us. The goddess Viridi is absolutely hysterical, since she is played by the same woman who plays the voice of Princess Bubblegum in the show Adventure Time With Finn and Jake. She makes the game after the ninth level much more enjoyable. The controls perfectly suit the 3DS (for those without a Circle Pad Pro) and are easily customized. The on-rails sky battle portion of the game is executed perfectly. The multiplayer section is done very well and there are hundreds of weapons that are all different (in stats) and rival Borderlands, just on a lesser scale. It's surprising how exciting it is to get a new weapon after a match. Fusing weapons is a great addition to make your arsenal the most power one you know of. And once you start, you can't stop. The graphics are the best I've seen on the 3DS and no detail is spared. Every burst, bullet, enemy, and 3D is filled with color and detail. The first game I got on my 3DS and it is still my favorite game of the bunch. Nintendo, I'm proud to put this game on the list.
